About

Relja Pekić completed his master's degree in ethnology and anthropology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. His interest in the field of scientific research is mostly focused on visual anthropology, sports anthropology, applied anthropology and sensory ethnography.

He is employed at the BETA News Agency as a videographer, creates audiovisual works, records various conferences and forums, and also edits video content on social networks.

Director and founder of the engaged ethnographic film festival "Vizantrop" and was a selector at related festivals in Serbia and the region (Days of Ethnographic Film in Ljubljana, Etnofilm from Rovinj and MFEF from Belgrade). He is the author of 6 short films, and he is currently working on his first autoethnographic feature film. Some of the films were shown at ethnographic festivals in Ljubljana, Zadar, Prague, Belgrade, Prizren, Moscow and Skopje, and he received an award for the film "Crossroads of Cultures" (2013) audience for the best student film at the SEF festival in Croatia.

He is the founder of the School of Visual Anthropology in Belgrade and has participated as a lecturer and mentor in numerous workshops in the region. Within this school, which has existed since 2011, more than 150 students and researchers have gone through the education program. He also held workshops as a lecturer and mentor in Skopje, Zagreb, Rovinj, Osijek, Zadar and Novi Sad.

He is one of the coordinators of the Roof Community Center, a joint collective of ethnologists and anthropologists, film directors and artists, and participates in creative development programs.

Anđela Dostanić graduated from the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology at the University of Belgrade and completed a traveling Erasmus Mundus master’s in urban studies, researching anthropological and urban phenomena in cities such as Brussels, Vienna, Copenhagen, and Madrid. Her master’s thesis focuses on ‘globalization from below’ and transitional economies in post-socialist cities, with a particular emphasis on informal economic practices in Belgrade. She is a co-founder of the Vizantrop collective as well as Engaged Ethnographic Film Festival – Vizantrop. Anđela has co-authored several student documentary-ethnographic films that have been screened at numerous domestic and international festivals. Additionally, she worked in camera and production departments in film industry and media. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in documentary directing at the Academy of Arts in Belgrade.
