A different kind of Berlin Wall gives some shade over the backyard of the Cashmere Radio studio.

Different communities pass by, meet, have a smoke, and sit along it. Thirty years of neighborhood history are painted on it.

Inspired by this wall, the Tryptic of Walls at Signals2Noise is a collaborative work designed by Patrick Soome and Giacomo Gianetta.

The tufting was performed by Hassan Yaghi, Chaalan Yaghi, and Eren Sageer, with assistance from Sascha and Hartmut Hilken.

IDA Radio is an independent cultural platform that operates as an online radio and event producer. It was first founded in Tallinn, Estonia May 1st 2018 and have since expanded to Helsinki, Finland in 2020.

Running under a shared website, the two sister channels offer a wide range of music and talk shows with more than 250 monthly residents.


IDA Radio

Cashmere Radio is a not-for-profit community experimental radio station which was originally based in Lichtenberg, Berlin for the first six years of its existence before recently moving to our new studio headquarters in Wedding. The ambition of the station is to preserve and further radio and broadcasting practices by playing with the plasticity and malleability of the medium. We do this by both honouring and challenging its inherent qualities: it is both a physical station open to the public and an online radio; it has regular shows, yet opens itself up to extended and one-off events; it features extended generative music performances...
