Nicolas Roeg began his career as cinematographer of such visually stunning 1960s films as Masque of the Red Death (directed by Roger Corman), Fahrenheit 451 (Francois Truffaut) and Petulia (Richard Lester) before co-directing (with Donald Cammell) the cult film Performance starring Mick Jagger, Anita Pallenberg and James Fox. Since then, as sole director, Roeg helmed a myriad of brain-teasing and eye-catching classics, including Don't Look Now, Walkabout, The Man Who Fell To Earth and Insigificance. In addition to Atmospherics, Roeg has directed music videos for Roger Waters' first solo album The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking (1984).
